Much has happened since the start of the year in the world and many businesses have had to make changes and adapt. The Chequers is no exception. Our aim as always, is to provide great food, ambience and a team with a can do attitude. For the short term we will be closed on all Mondays (unless a Bank Holiday) however, we will be open on Monday 21st December and Monday 28th December.

We have put the following changes into place whilst complying with the government guidelines to help ensure we keep our customers and staff safe. Throughout the Pub we are offering table service; all guests must be seated at a table whether this be indoor or outdoor, which are all distanced to the government guidelines.
If you wish to dine, bookings will need to be made on line or by telephone for the restaurant with a maximum of 6 per table. Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
If you wish to visit us for drinks only we will have some tables available on a first come, first served basis. If the pub is at capacity, there will be a queuing system on the door, and we will try are hardest to seat you where possible.
Our outside dining area will also be booking only and these tables will be released only if we have good weather along-side our wonderful Beach Huts (seats up to 6) which can be hired for £30 at Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Tables are again a maximum of 6 people per table.
If you wish to have a drink outside, we will have tables available on a first come first served basis weather permitting.
Please remember to wear your face mask when entering the Chequers and when you leave your table, it is now compulsory!
You will need to scan the track and trace QR code with your phone on entry to the Chequers.
Tables will not be allowed to be pushed together to form groups.
All social distancing rules must be adhered to and anyone who is not will not be served.
All children must be supervised at all times.
Please use contactless payment where possible.
It is now mandatory that everyone is off the premises by 10pm.

We decided to pop in for lunch, it was a busy Saturday afternoon and they were still able to accommodate us. Good menu choices. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Very impressed with the quality of food will return. Also impressed dogs are welcome.
